Thompson Engineering Group is a certified MBE with various local governmental municipalities and a DBE firm with FDOT work group pre-qualifications in miscellaneous structure, bridge structures and bridge inspection.

The Florida Department of Transportation’s DBE Program
A Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) is a for-profit, small business that has at least 51% ownership by an individual or members of a socially and economically disadvantaged group; African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian-Pacific, Subcontinent Asian American, or Women. The definitions of “small business” and “socially disadvantaged” are both determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Cities and Counties MBE Program
An MBE is a Minority Business Enterprise. MBEs are companies owned by United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic or Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals-i.e., the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members.
